Welcome to the Chat Support site. This service allows you to request a chat session from a support technician.

ITS Service Center Chat is available Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m., Eastern Time. If you need help outside of these hours, please contact the Service Center at 734-764-HELP (764-4357) or 4help@umich.edu.


IMPORTANT: Please be aware that using a mobile device for your chat session may not work. Mobile sessions can drop without notice, interrupting your chat service conversation. At this time, using a regular desktop or laptop computer for chat is recommended.

Important Messages

  • Due to a recent issue affecting University of Michigan accounts, the ITS Service Center is experiencing very heavy volume. We are aware of the long wait times, but for password resets, we must work with account owners by phone or by chat. This is a security requirement. We apologize for the trouble, and will handle all service requests as quickly as we can.
